Our aim is to source and sell secondhand machines with a price that reflects their condition. We only sell new or reconditioned with a limited service and back up but offering large savings on the initial outlay. In essence, good quality machines at warehouse prices.
We are based in the UK but 85% of our business is done overseas.
In the last 5
years we have
sold machines
to over 60
countries
worldwide.
We export on average around 35 containers every year.
In 2005 we started not only selling from stock but also on our customers' behalf on a commission basis which has proved to be very successful.
We are always in need of more good quality used dairy and food processing machinery. If you have anything to sell from single machines to complete process plants, please contact us.
Because of the way we work we can normally offer more for your machinery than any other dealer. Payment will be made in full before any work is commenced.
We offer a full 'World Wide' removal and transport service from your site. This service includes full insurance and all necessary paperwork.
Who's behind Machinery World?
Machinery World was started by Paul Crowter in 1999 with a single aim: supplying good quality dairy machinery at warehouse prices.
Paul Crowter
Managing DirectorHi, I'm Paul. I set up Machinery World back in 1999 and I have a passion for the trade which we are in. Before the days of Machinery World I used to be a salesman for a local domestic dairy equipment company. I could see that the Dairy industry in the UK was not what it once was and rapidly declining so wanted to channel my focus overseas. I do hope that you will have good dealings with Machinery World and I look forward to you getting in touch.
Mark Gudgeon
Purchasing ManagerI started as a Stainless Steel Welder in the dairy industry at the age of 17 and since then have worked in several fields within the industry from general engineering, rebuilding machinery, dismantling and transport to eventually looking after business development and purchasing for Machinery World. I obtain a large amount of enjoyment and satisfaction from doing a good job and performing to the best of my ability. If there is any way I can help you please let me know.
Mike Hydon
Office and Transport ManagerI graduated from Leeds University with a degree in maths and mechanical engineering in 1995. My working life started in manufacturing quality within the automotive industry filling various management roles, including a stint as the Quality Manager of a tier 1 multi-national. More recently I moved into Project Management, managing the introduction of several new product lines, and completed several courses in business management. I joined Machinery World in December 2005 and am married with two sons. I take a very active role in all aspects of the office and adminstration, and I am often the first person people speak to when they telephone Machinery World.
Alberto Ciacciarelli
Engineer ManagerI started working for Machinery World in March 2009. I come from a dairy industry in which I have 23 years experience in all engineering and maintenance aspects involved in the smooth running of a leading dairy. Here at Machinery World I am involved in managing all planning and organisation of the engineering, workshop and warehouse departments. I can offer technical and engineering support for all our customers and would be happy to assist with any queries you may have.
Phil Darvell
UK Ice Cream MachineryI have the exciting challenge of looking after all of Machinery World's ice cream producers in the U.K. With 10 years experience in the ice cream manufacture myself, I am available to help you in any way I can. If you need anything, please give me a call.
Walter De Vogel
International Business ManagerHi, I look after the database and website for Machinery World. I have been given a responsible and demanding role, particularly for someone of my age and experience. It can be quite demanding at times, but as things are done successfully I get a real sense of achievement. In addition to working in the daytime, I am currently studying a Computer Studies course at Coventry University in the evenings.
Rebecca Crowter
SecretaryI have worked for Machinery World for three years and I thoroughly enjoy my job. My background has been in general administration and finance, having worked for several years for HSBC Bank. As secretary at MW, I particularly enjoy the variety of tasks and meeting our many international customers. I am always happy to help should you require any further information about visiting our premises or queries regarding your account.
Sue Stacey
Team SecretaryHi, I am Sue. I joined Machinery World in May 2007 as Team Secretary. I have worked in a wide variety of office enviroments for 20 years. I am married with 2 children but before I had the children I trained as a Surveyor for a large Housing Association. Working for Machinery World is very interesting, I talk to and meet people from all over the world.
Dave Pearson
Removal EngineerBefore I started at Machinery World I was a welder and general engineer. This job is different from anything that I did in the past because of its variety; I don't know where I could be working or even what I could be doing from one day to the next. I always try to get the machines out such in a way that they can be easily reassembled and safe to transport without risk of damage.
Alec Clarke
Warehouse SupervisorI started of in the automative industry, panel beating cars for Peugeot in Coventry. After the plant shut down i started looking for another job where I could use the skills I know. My job at Machinery World involves many things but mainly it is to get the machines in a good condition for our customers. I also help the workshop to get machines ready for dispatch.
